Development Program 

The Spring Development Phase program focuses on U11 Intakes (Fall, 2021 Season U10s; 9 years old - born 2012, U11 (10 years old - born 2011) and U12 (11 years old - born 2010).

Players are selected on either recreational Div. 3 teams coached by volunteer coaches or competitive Div. 2 and Div. 1 teams coached by paid technical staff.

The division 3 teams are practicing twice a week (once by an Albion FC staff coach and once by their volunuteer coach) with one game day at the weekend.
The Division 1 and 2 teams are practicing once a week with a game day at the weekend coached by a paid staff coach. Albion FC recommend all players playing at the div 1 and 2 teams to join the Albion FC Academy.

Albion FC and Ridge Meadows Soccer Club have partnered to represent the region within the Cascadia Soccer Leagues at DIV. 1 and DIV.2. This partnership is designed to support the needs of the players at both clubs by creating a larger pool to responsibly group players within their current ability level. Both DIV.1 and DIV.2 teams train alongside one another to allow for in-season player identification and opportunities for movement to support Long-Term Player development.

Program Details

-Number of teams and division of play determined based on player numbers for spring program

-RMSC provides head coach and accept registration for DIV 1 team

-AFC provides head coach and accept registration for DIV 2 team

-Teams provided RMSC (blue) and AFC (red) kits / tops

-Train at same time/location 1-session a week

Program Objectives:

-Continued advancement of overall soccer skills with increasing competitive elements.

-Help to master fundamental movement skills and develop basic soccer skills.

-Continue to develop participant understanding of basic soccer tactics.

-Further develop endurance through games and activities.

-Emphasize importance and purpose of training during this stage.

-Ongoing identification and development.
